In the last week I have seen two new tiger cats and one new JD grapple skidders. They were being trucked west through Saskatchewan. I assume to British Columbia.
One was stopped for coffee so I got a good look at , what an impressive piece of iron. That grapple could hold every tree within a ten mile radius of where I live.
What is one worth?

Maybe a 630 model? New, like Matt said, I’d say it’s a $300-350,000 machine. Don’t know the exact specs, but they can move a lot of wood on flat ground, and they’re a pretty good all-round size machine, probably similar to a Deere 748. They can get turned around pretty easily, but aren’t short on power.

Put 10,000 well-maintained hours on one and it’s worth a third of new. Which is inpressive, given that on an excavator that weighs the same you pretty much are in for a full rebuild or a trip to the scrap pile at that point.
