would some taller wheels be your solution?
It would help in using the splitter in the vertical position. However, it would raise the working height of the splitter in the horizontal position such that it would be too high for me to work comfortably. There is also the relatively high cost of going to a wheel/tire that is 6" bigger in diameter (to gain 3" in height). A quick look doesn't reveal any wheels that would be a direct bolt on--currently has 4.8"x8" rims, 3/4" bore with a single castle nut, no lug nuts, with road use tires. It looks like I'd probably have to put on hubs with studs first... That makes living with it or moving the pivot even more attractive!
