The flames aside, the plastic looks like a kids toy. It's a shame to put the Mac name on the likes of that.On the other hand,I used to work with a guy who bought a wild thing solely for the name and appearance and I expect he wasn't the only one.Probably smart marketing for it's intended target(disgruntled Stihl owners for example):msp_wink:

Do you have any pics of whats under the hood?? :blob2:

Brian
OK, old thread, but since Fish brought it back to life:

What is under the hood is a probably a 40cc RedMax GZ4000, but maybe smaller displacement. Ugly on the outside, but not on the inside.

One of my new guys pulled one of those out of his truck box awhile back. It was good for a laugh watching all the guys try and start it. it as this funky easy start crap. Then I tried it. Needless to say it never got stared.

They started off as a straightforward clone of a RedMax GZ4000 like my MS4018PAV:

It has the easy pull starter, which took some getting used to but does work fine if you don't go gorilla on it. Then they redesigned the handle/tanks, top cover, recoil, carb mounts and air filter, etc. (from an eBay ad):
attachment.php

I think they were still strato but the air valve appears to be different so I'm not sure. They still have this inside (also from an eBay ad):

Then apparently marketing got into LSD, or perhaps someone got hit in the head with a Hot Wheels, I dunno. But under the embarrassing color & decal scheme it's an interesting saw. Maybe if you painted the bar......

I believe that's just a rebadged PP4218 or very similar. I like the way it looks, and I like the saw.

However, this is under Husqvarna while that XM40 thing was Jenn Feng gone wild.

Yeah its one of them Husqculloch's.......I think you can only get them in australia though? Havent seen it for sale else where.
