We have a fairly young hybrid locust tree in the front yard and when one of the limbs broke, I noticed there was a borer grub inside. I have since used some of the Beyer tree fertilizer/pesticide in a ring around the tree which dramatically increased the growth of the tree this summer. I don't believe it did anything to kill the borers though. What should I be using to treat the tree to take care of those darn bugs?

Keep the tree healthy and happy. In most cases, borers are not the primary cause of tree death, they are secondary. I'm not a big fan of chemical control, too much time and money to control something year after year.
