re:GFL

yup those are his initials. any suggestions? are those the usual prices for tree feeding?

Not by anyone else's standards. Read carefully what you have signed. Has he performed the work? Did he inject into the tree (his favorite, as he does it right away) or the soil? Report him to the BBB, get estimates from reputable tree services and actually stand up to this guy. You won't win anything, and you'll be forced to pay in court eventually if you signed a contract, but this guy has been doing this for years, and now his sons are learning from him...
Read that contract again, it usually reads that by signing, you are automatically enrolled in his health-care program for trees, and that he will visit your property to repeat the service yearly until you cancel in writing. Cancel, get out, and if you can, refuse to pay as it will make life more difficult for him. He is a crook by all standards and cheats unsuspecting people on a daily basis.

Contact your attorney general; your taxe$ pay that office to go after fraud.

Contact your local newspapers and tv stations; they want news and they may help.

If you seek these allies the thief may pursue payment of your bill less aggressively.

Yeah, whos that idiot on channel 9 always giving contractors the bone? call his dumb azz, at least he'll throw it on the air, and catch this guy at his game. I can't stand the guy, but he's done some good things to help folks.

It seems to me that if this guy came to you and made you think your wife had already arranged service with him, that is fraud and therefore a contract may not be valid.

I agree he missled you to get you to sign a contract and that is fraud and misrepresentation.
DO NOT GIVE HIM A DIME!Tell your wife not to speak to him or answer the door to him.Call your local elder abuse
people under your county services in the phone book and they will report him,I would also report him to the cops.
But whatever you do don't give him any money..let him take you to court and when he does..show up with your wife as a witness and tell the judge exactly what he tryed to pull on you and the judge will handle him!

i am curious why you advise contacting the elder abuse agency? the individual is in his 40s... and hasn't mentioned anything indicating he's an 'endangered adult' which could qualify help from an elder abuse agency...

just curious...

Tom Sousy is the TV guy. He just did a piece on a travelling tree trimmer who got paid in advance and disappeared. Contract was written on notebook paper, which might have been a clue to the guy not to pay in advance... Never heard of or seen that guy, though. This guy is legendary in what he'll pull.

Sounds pretty old. Another fella on AS describes himself as a middle aged conservative and he lists his birthday as in 1971. By those standards I feel like Methuselah...heh heh heh

Touche' Elmore :)

Hey, you got any 6-8' ginkgoes ready to leave? I have a customer wanting one, and no one here has any, and aren't ordering anymore this late in season.

Not yet...those 6'-8' Ginkgoes are likely in McMinnville, TN or adjacent areas. Let me know if you really want some and how many. I may know of some in Kentucky not too far from you.

OH I am sorry this is rhe kind of thing that elderly people
fall for alot.I assumed that because he was so easily pursuaded in such a manner he was elderly.
My mistake
Elder abuse people also help elders who are being what they call "Financialy abused" or taken advantage of.They can put a stop to it real quick
