Here's a new species I've encountered. Looks like it got uprooted and fell horizontally hanging I assume is fresh but dead. When I cut into it it was green. Any ideas what it is? The heartwood on the end grain looks like a grass stain green color.

Thanks I have alot on my property but not to many over 10-12" most are 4"-10". I had a forestry guy come look to selective cut and that was when I first learned of the tree.

Good call on the hickory, I looked up Eastern hickory trees because the op profile says Eastern us and that's what came up. I think only shagbark and pignut here in michigan

Everyone thinks shaggy barked Hickory is Shagbark Hickory, most Hickory's are Shellbark Hickory, Shellbark has flatter bark hanging from the trunk or stalk where Shagbark curves way out from the tree's stalk.
