Hickory on the first set of pictures, possibly Yellow Birch on this one.
I remember seeing birch trees years ago on my neighbors property they were yellowish, but the bark was very thin. This one is more grey or brown and the bark is much thicker. It’s pretty shaggy though.

I’m leaning/ hoping hickory.there are other highly valuable black walnuts in my neighborhood ( I wish) and they are all brownish, where this is more grey. I’ve never seen one nut off this tree though. While the walnut gives me tons. Located maybe another 6-8 more of the same trees today on the other side of my property so I’m psyched
No nuts could mean it's an Ash tree.

Is the branching opposite or alternating?

Can you get a picture of the whole/most of the tree.

I thought most of the ash trees were dying or dead. The picture below is of a neighbor’s tree I took a couple of months ago. he has a few like this either on the ground or dead standing . I figured these were ash because of all the holes in them.

Here’s a few pics although not very good. The pic with the small branches sucks but I think it show alternating branching ? Which means no ash?

Need help I’d ing this tree. I have several trees on my property I can’t identify. Most of them don’t have any branches on them till 60’ up. And my eyes aren’t what they used to be.Came home today and found a branch in the path. Three days ago there weren’t any leaves on the tree, today spring has sprung.
Great pics for ID ,Hickory maybe Pignut.

Most definitely hickory. One on the ground appears to be oak.

We have tons of walnuts and hickories on our farm and I would bet the farm it's not walnut.

Thanks to all that replied. I’m thinking pignut hickory too after doing some research. Gonna post another picture of a tree nearby. The bark is similar to the tree in question, as are the leaves from what I can tell. Anyway if you can zoom in on the bark below and where the tree comes to a v the bark is pretty shaggy. The tree is a little bigger than the other maybe 24” in diameter or so.
