Hi All,
I have a Rancher 455 which has cut and cleared a lot of land faithfully for a few years.
A few weeks ago it started dying at full throttle; I brought it in for service and they replaced the fuel filter and did a few other things.
After a few hours of work the symptoms have returned... it behaves as if it is "fuel starved". Idles fine, but at full throttle will run for a few seconds then start to "buck" (rev down, rev back up).
This seems to be exacerbated as it heats up.
I did some light disassembly last night, tuned the H & L, cleaned air filter, but still have these symptoms.
Any advice on what to try next ? I'm thinking:
*Check fuel lines for cracks or clogs
*check tank vent?
*...?
Also, is there a good source for the service manual for this equipment?
Thanks for any feedback, have really enjoyed this site, finally registered...
