Anyone ever used the short 3 lb maul from Truper?

I've was about to buy a 3lb sledge for various needs, but mostly starting a splitting wedge. I saw this and thought it would not only work for that, but also work better than the hatchet I've been using for kindling.

I'll be in Richmond this Saturday and could save myself the shipping.

Never used one... I always use the hammer side of the splitting maul to drive the wedge.

Yeah, I use a 12 lb sledge for driving it. I'm talking about starting it (a little easier than always having to use the heavy sledge or 8 lb maul).

The main question I'm wondering about is how well it works for splitting kindling.

Ah, ok. Well using an 8 lb maul one handed to start a wedge is a good way to get your forearms ripped. :D
