Even if you fit a Stihl bar on a Husky or vice versa the bar groove is the issue, as both manufacturers use different drivelink thicknesses...

I moved the chain and the bar to the new saw. I had, and still have a good selection of bars, but don't mix and match much anymore. 30 years ago, I would sometimes grind my own bars to use a different gauge chain.
