Starter cable. I'm not a fan of these. Make the pull harder, not forgiving and it's possible to get a wicked sliver stuck in your finger.

Thanks, looks like I won't be buying one. $45 a little to much for some cable when I could make it at home or use rope
IIWM (if it were me) I’d try a length of braided pull rope, 5mm or so.
I us Para cord on all my saws and it works perfect. Gonna stop by the store and pick up some cable or rope

So I've been playing around with it and replacing lines. The gas line had a crack and that's fixed. There's a second line from the crank case to the carb? With a long spring in it that gets pulled? What's it for? Does it need the spring?

Having worked in the wire rope industry, I’d hazard a guess that is 3/16” 7 x 19 galvanized aircraft cord. Or maybe 1/8”.

Same stuff used in counterweight/spring balance system for your overhead garage door.

Hardware stores sometimes have it in spools and sold by the foot.

The swaged on ball end fittings are the only major hurdle to overcome.

It's 1/8 more sure then not. Thinkin buy 2' and use a mig welder and make a ball on the end. Your thoughts?

There's a rubber seal on carb so it can swivel. Do those seals go bad? This one is hard but it's also cold

I don't yet have the 26LCS but I do have its little sister, the 1st gas saw Homelite made the 20MCS and they are very similar in that it too has the rotating handle to accommodate the non diaphragm carb (float style)
