I have a saw that looks just like a XL 12 but no name, no tags of any kind. I can post pics if I get any response. It has good compression, no spark, I can probably get it running. I would like to know what I'm workin' on though.

Just about every manufacturer copied the XL-12. What color is it? Could one of twenty different Lombards, or maybe a Poulan 361/401 series. Pioneer 10- and 1100 series looked like that...... Pics would help

Need a pic to help you out. XL 12s, SXLs, etc all look pretty similar. Some were red, blue, red/white, who knows what else

Heres some pics, don't laugh too much I ain't cleaned it up at all, its been in a barn for way too long. My nephew gave it to me. We work together and I've been talking about this damn chainsaw bug that bit me... Well I can't upload pics it says the file size is to big, more searching

Search posting pics for dummies (on this forum)

Just resize them smaller...

Also... if i t"looks" like an XL12... it prolly is. There were so many rebadged XL12's made that it is prolly one of the most mass produced saw ever made.

I didn't mean to come across as rude...I myself don't know how to post pics, but if and when i need to that is where i will go to figure out how

My votes for Lombard Commango as well. I got one in a load of junk saws a couple of months ago, looked just like that.

Do a search for commango and you will find a few threads with some more pics. I like that name ,commango, cant belive any saw named that wouldnt be more popular. Yours looks like it has seen better days. Before and after shots would be cool.

Thanks for the responses, I did some searching and with what I learned from you guys and a lot of pics, I too vote for the Commango, lol. Before and after pics... well I ain't sure about fixin' it, won't it be hard to find parts? I might do a vac test on it, go from there. Thanks again.

I got a 026 that is first on the list, when I get it back together I will tear into the lombard. Thanks guys, this is a great site.

Hey Jim,

Just how close is a Lombard to a Homelite? Close enough for parts to interchange? Just curious as to how similarly these saws are actually built.
