Hi Everyone
I bought a used Surge Master (Wallenstein) Horizontal/Vertical splitter the other day. It is in very good condition, with a honda 5.5 hp motor on it.
The hydraulics seem to be kind of week. I have checked the fluid level its good.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Just $0.02 cents worth from the hip....

Have you put a pressure gauge on er to see what the pump was making?

Just want something else to try?

Clean the pressure release valve.

If it has a chunk of seal, peeled section of hose or any type of debris stuck in it it will not get a lot of work done.

I would go with a pressure gauge too. I put one on my homemade splitter and that showed all my problems. I could only build about 900 lbs. and found out it was my pump. I changed the pump and have not had a problem since.
