Weird 254 cylinder, plumbed for NOS? What is it?

So I got this 254 I wanna fix up bring back to life, can anybody recognize this over complicated decompression mumbo-jumbo, is this thing plumbed for nitrous what am I looking at here?

Looks like it uses cyl exh gasses to fill somthing? There a valve with a pin to activate it, no idea what it was used for I found it in my chainsaw graveyard and I’ve always wanted to figure it out and make it work again, trying to decide how bad is it.

Correct, that setup is for filling a "airbag" to act as a felling wedge.
I don't think I've actually seen the "airbag" portion of the setup.

Can’t really find any numbers or markings other than serial. Going to give it a bath and make a list stay tuned.

By chance, I have all the parts needed to make a 1984 154FE ("F" for NordFeller) from a 154SE, apart from the sticker. However the plumbing and socket look quite different.
