What about fuel cans?

I know, it seems so mundane, but what do people like for fuel cans?

I've got one of the common red plastic double cans - bar oil in one chamber, fuel in another. It's not too bad, but the filler necks and their gaskets/stoppers are kind of a hassle, and the fuel side is 1.5 gal which makes mixing just a tad more fussy.

Is there anything better - and, if so, where do I get it? (I'm in Oregon, BTW.)

Stihl cans with auto fill tops work well for me once you get the idea of releasing excess pressure when the cans get warm

I just use a plain 2 gallon wedco with a quickstop spout. I use a gateraide bottle or dishsoap bottle. for baroil.

I really don't like the double cans to well, our brush crews uses them at work, but I use a 2 gal. wallyworld jug & a tide jug as was talked about in another thread for bar oil for myself. I use a measuring cup for mix ratio's so 1, 1 1/2 or 2 or more doesn't really matter to me.

Sadly, we can't get those here - ditto for those neat Jonsered/Husqvarna "Combi Cans."

I just use a cheap 2 gallon plastic can. One gallon is too small, and bigger than 2 gallon might get stale some times in the year. Also with 2 gallons you just need 5 ounces of oil, pretty easy to remember

Justrite UNO type 2 safety can doesnt get any better than that.

I tie a gas can (plastic 2.5 gallon/10 litre) to an oil jug with a short piece of rope so I can carry it on my shoulder. People did this before I came along, seems to work well. If I am not cutting much then I use my jetpacks.

I use a 5 gallon VP fuel can that we used to use for our dirt bikes. Clear plastic so I can keep an eye on how much fuel I have left easily. Probably available in any dirt bike shop or online through denniskirk or some place like that. Not cheap though but handy with the flexible fill hose and the large mouth for dumping in the oil.

I think we might have close to the same gas/oil cans I like mine alot however your right about the 1.5 gal capacity I mix my fuel in a 2 gal can and then fill the dual can . That's different than the one I have. Are the nozzles threaded for those caps?

The ends of the nozzles are not threaded but the caps off of the heet bottles do screw on and seem to be somewhat of a snug fit. The fuel can was origanly desighned to drop the nozzles down into the can with a plastic "round thing" cant think of the proper name for it , on top to seal it up.A buddy of mine has one identical to mine and he cut off the flexable part of his and it is threaded an inch or so above the base of the neck and he used plastic coke bottle caps and screwed on his .

I just pour from the bottle or get technical with one of these at home.
Picked one up with a used bike, I like it for measuring oils.

To mix premix its simple and real accurate.

I just use a 2.5 gallon fuel can and gallons of bar oil.
Needa get me a milkcrate though.
