What about the 064

[Firewoodster]

A guy has a STIHL 064 for sale. Says it is in exc. condition. Wants $260 for it.
So before I go to the trouble of driving forty miles to look at it, I'd like to hear the pros and cons on this saw.
Don't be shy. Tell me the whole TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH!

They go for alot more than that on ebay.

I like the feel of them and more grunt than the 046.

Exactly. A 064 in good shape is worth more than 260.00 and though they tag behind the 066 in power they are still a good cutting saw.

probably worth that in parts alone,if it is in great shape even better it is a stout piece of machinery.

Big and heavy for a firewood saw, but nothing you won't be able to cut!!!

I have had a 064 for 12 years bought it used in ok shape used it alot for the first four years till I got an o46 now use it off and on, just for firewood and genral cutting it has been a great saw. It might not have the power of an 066 but I also think its a little lighter by about a pound. I havent had any problems with it at all.
