Probably a 500i if I stop buying guitars and amplifiers long enough to afford one...
036/360 would be a strong runner up... until i get so old I can't be arsed to start them anymore.

360 is a strong contender. An 034S, granddaddy to the 360, was my one-saw plan for over a decade, supplying wood for three households at one point. 40+ cords on that saw, looking it's age now but still going strong.

I think for a ground saw, the Stihl MS260 is one of the best saws ever built. The newest 261s are also pretty good now that they seem to have the M-tronic carbs working decently.

What brand/model is your #1 favorite if you could only have a single chainsaw for the rest of your life.

Although I'm enamored with my Mac 380 and my 395xp, I have to factor in the "The rest of your life" portion of the question. My 272xp is also one of the Loves of My Life as well, however in time she may become too big of a burden as rigor mortice continues to encroach! So, aside from the MS200t, that leaves one of my MS260's as the hopeful solution to the long game.

I guess you can limb with an 880 if you have to, but can't cut down a 7ft diameter tree with a 261.

Has been my 044 for a long, long, time. These days and likely as I get older my Madsen’s ported 026 Pro has been my go to saw. That thing rips!

I'm partial to my ms261cm. I've worked it pretty hard and it keeps on going. Prior to that maybe the husky 66.

The one I learned to cut with; MAC 151. I got it when I was old enough to lift it and safely use it.

The great thing about the Stihl saws is there are only 3 bar mounts since 1959. Of course not practical but you can put a 48" bar on a 026

Of course it took a great deal of time, but I once dropped a 2' White Oak with a 40volt HoboFreight saw just for giggles... Next time I'll ask to borrow that Swiss Army Knife!
