My understanding of his statement was more like "McCullochs are throwaway saws.......yeah right" (like he was addressing people who DO think/state that they're throwaways. I could be wrong however...

Nope, you're not wrong, I did mean it as a joke, but I guess I was a bit too factious for the internet haha. I can't tell you how many people have told me that when i say i collect old McCulloch's and fix them up... "Gah, McCulloch's are throwaway saws" I just shrug and laugh because I have always been able to get them to run, and run well at that...

I prefer it if people keep thinking that all McCullochs are throw away saws, keeps me from spending lots of money on them.

well that was my other thought in not adding a smiley or a haha at the end of the statement
next project is the 1-50 i picked up, but those too are throw aways I've heard.
