I have 4 saws, hedge trimmer, string trimmer and blower. Some of the most reliable equipment I've ever owned. I do pull the caps and retune. In my opinion, they're just as good as any brand. Easy starting too.I hear echo as are really dependable, I here they are very tourqy compared to other brands.
I can relate to that!Trouble is choosing which one to run
Certainly a lot of knowledge on such a broad range of topics in these forums. Neat to see what other guys are up to.I'm just a hobbyist who cuts firewood for the family cabin. Currently: for felling - Stihl 034AV with 25" bar, bucking - 025 with 16" bar. Working on 038 Super for felling and 026 for bucking. I've only been working on saws for about a year and a half and have learned everything I know from AS (Thank you, everyone!). Unfortunately (?) I picked up the CAD virus from this site. Since I'm not a spring chicken, I decided to stick with one brand to minimize the learning curve for rebuilding: Stihl, 'cause years ago my farmer grampaw said they were the best. I have now produced 10 runners and have acquired enough projects to keep me out of trouble for a long time to come. I like basket cases, the dirtier (and cheaper) the better.
Forgot to mention the new cs355t. Pretty impressed with that little saw.Cs520, cs680, ms661 and a few 10-10s. Also a cs590 and 372XP not pictured
