I bought a herbivore for $ 20, poured a few years old fuel, poured new and buzzing 22cc engine, 3mm fishing line from the largest piece. People have fantasies ;-) Sealants are to be replaced

Working on the franken365 today. Pulled the carb off and it IS a Walbro RWJ-4B which is the factory carb for a husky 372 Xtorq.

I went ahead and pulled the cylinder and it appears to be a OEM 48mm non strato charged jug.

I tried putting a standard 372 carb on it but no dice with the air cleaner set up I have.

Also looks like it’s about time to be freshened up.

Decided to bite the bullet today and I ordered a Hyway Titanickel 52mm cylinder and pop up piston for the Franken365. I guess for now I'm just gonna leave the X-torq carb on it. I'd love to do some porting on this saw, but havn't invested in a timing wheel yet. When I "ported" my MS361 I just did the base gasket delete, and then raised the exhaust port the thickness of the gasket and opened it up a bit. Next time I port a saw I want to do it right.

I've got a 372XT that I put an OE-style 52mm cylinder on, but am still using the XT carb. I ported it and did some machine work to the piston/cylinder as well. The power isn't quite as responsive as my other ported saws of similar displacement, but it pulls really well in the cut. The power is good enough that I don't even feel compelled to try an OE carb on it.

This saw actually ran pretty decent but I knew the compression was low.

I’m just gonna assemble stock with the pop up piston, and bass gasket delete if the squish will allow for it and then maybe port it once I get a timing wheel.
 
Got this low hour PP365 I got a year or so ago with a scored p&c. The cyl had very little transfer which I got 99% out with a little sand paper and a scotch brite pad. Putting a new piston,seals,impulse line,carb kit,etc.

Finished up the 261 today. It's not the meanest 261 out there, but will be nice running worksaw.

I now have three Stihls to be made runners of, an 011, an 026 and an 028. Amazingly I was told they all have an air leak, which I doubt. I was also given three saws to keep, a Poulan 2000, a Homelite 240 and a Mini Mac. I took the 2000, left the other two there...

I changed my mind and went back today to get the 240 and they not only gave me the 240 but a nice looking but dirty Poulan Super 25DA. Someone already snapped up the Mini Mac. I'm guessing the 25DA only needs a fuel line..

Checked out two saws today, the 25DA ran with just a squirt of gas in it so it just needs fuel line, or maybe carb cleaning. The 011, checked for air leak, did NOT have a leak. I think the owner gave me his runner by mistake. I'll check the other two when I get time..
I checked the other 011 today and it didn't have an air leak either. I think somebody doesn't know what an air leak is. In fact I haven't found anything wrong with either except the second one is quite dirty..
 
Finished the PP365 today. Put a nos piston in it, seals,carb kit,filter and all new lines. Even put a nos 20” bar I had. Thoroughly cleaned it up while it was apart too.

Husky 61 practica on the bench. Getting crank seals, o-rings, x ring, fuel hose and filter, carb kit, spark plug, and thorough cleaning. Has a 162 top end, will get a non baffled muffler and HS224 carb. Gonna put a chain brake on it as well. Still gathering bits and pieces I’m missing but should be done in a week or two. I should add this saw is being assembled from parts I had on hand. I figured I had most of what I needed to put another saw together so, this is the “leftover” saw.

You’re traveling the same path as I did last fall with a Practica; including the chain brake addition. Mine got a Meteor top end. It is fitted with an oddball Windsor 17 inch bar. It’s a strong combination for the smaller diameter softwoods we like for our lake-side fire pit.

This saw will most likely get a 20” bar. They really wake up with the bigger carb and non baffled muffler, especially with the closed port cylinder. Finished up another 61 a while back with a jred 630 top end, very happy with how it turned out.
