Well.... it is on a bench... electronic bench that is.

Winter hobby of restoring and repairing of older Cobra CB radios. Particular of the made in the Philippines era and some from Hong Kong and Korea. Parts are/were better quality, circuit boards thicker and more robust and easier to do modifications.

Most need new meters with an updated LED light instead of incandescent bulb, new channel displays, spray all controls with Deoxit F5 contact cleaner, re-flow all the solder joints with Kester 245 No Clean solder, all new electrolytic capacitors upgraded with Nichicon and various other repairs.

And a ton of cleaning! Much elbow grease used. A few get new case covers and control knobs.

Of course I will resell them all...... just like all the saws I rebuilt..... hahahaha...

MS361, I think.Don't know what else it would be. All lettering on the starter cover worn off. Mostly from riding around in the back of a truck I would say. Cylinder cleaned pretty good, but I'll find out what cost on new OEM top end is in the morning. That or a Meteor depending.
That and a MS271, free except for oil pump, worm, and drum bearing.
At work, a MS661 with at least the starter side crankcase broken from being backed over.
And, the usual dozen weed eaters and blowers.
Another day in paradise.

So kind of a recurring theme at this point but, another husky on the bench! 1980 61 Practica I got for $50 dollars. Was a complete saw with original white top cover, piston was scored. Now sporting a OEM 272XP top end, HS254 carb, new seals, o-rings, x-ring, fuel hose and filter, carb kit, clutch spring, etc, etc. updated to newer style air filter, few other updates as well. Spark screen “plate” and cheese grater thing removed from muffler. Fired it up for the first time today she sounds great. Got a chain brake clutch cover for it as well.

David Bradley and it's all there and turns over. where the heck do I put the coal in to get the boiler hot. LOL. Friend dropped it off, it was gifted to him. I fixed his old homelite and he dropped this off. I told him it might take me awhile to get it going and find a bar and chain. Looks like a backache waiting to happen.

Were you able to get hold of an OEM chain brake and clutch cover?
That's good. I got a complete OEM one, in very good condition, from Spike60. It wasn't cheap but when it comes to safety... The white top 61 I reconditioned went to my brother as a housewarming gift. He doesn't have much experienced using saws so that chain brake was a must.

Yeah I like to have working chain brakes on my saws. Always on the hunt for those parts, especially the brake bands. Used the last of what I had on hand for that 61.

Two more Stihls to check out, an 039 that's broken everywhere, looks like it was run over by the log truck and a not so easy start MS180. The 039 will probably end up being a parts saw and the 180 feels like it might be flooded, I'll turn it over tomorrow with the spark plug out and see what runs out of it..

A little Honda EU2000i with "run on choke only" complaint. As per the standard, gummed up carb from old fuel..... Specifically the emulsion tube with the green crusties.

The all plastic pilot jet was clean and clear by some miracle but missing a factory 2nd o-ring to seal the top half... strange. Air filter was starting to degrade and the plug had heavy deposits like it was the factory original plug. Both new now.

Runs like a champ now... till next year! LOL
