So these Super Splits are also in a price range for me but I'm dumbfounded on how the special edition is over $1200 more than the HD model. Yes it has 3 more hp and upgrades to honda, a few more tons and gear reduction 2:1, but is all that worth the money? Will this extra money guarantee enough power to split stringy elm or twisted gum? Who out there has had experience and can vouch for one or the other? I'm in heat for a new splitter and am chomping at the bit. If someone out there thinks the extra power is worth the money then I'm all ears. I just don't have that many firewood resources on equipment down in the south. Thanks.
