At the end of the day, she is possibly learning to do something that terrified her not too many hours before- sure she might be making some mistakes, but hopefully the instructor saw what was going on and corrected her stance, position, use of the equipment and explained the what could happen and why all in a way she could comprehend without feeling chastised'
Now, me personally....... I know I have done similar and indeed much worse over the years I have been using power saws- we all do at some stage, sometimes on purpose just to get something done and trust we can get away with it- or sometimes because the unexpected happened.
The thing is, we only know the nano second when the shutter dropped- not the events leading up to nor the events immediately after.
