Where is the DOT when this guy comes down the road ?

So,... If he was towing a Kubota it would be ok? lol Heck, that looks just like my truck everytime I come out of the woods! Except mine is white. And, I only have a 1/4 mile to go on a township road.

the guy is on a side road/residential. I'll go with the assumption that he come out of the woods onto that road and never got out of the highway and never saw more than 30 mph.
It really is a scary thought of that guy hammering down the highway at 70 with the tongue skipping off the road.

Leave him alone. At least he's working.

Andy

Generally I would agree, but losing control of that rig could cause someone else to be seriously hurt. DOT needs to be more concerned about vehicles like this. In the summer I quite frequently see wrecked CR-V's and station wagons that tried to tow 30' campers. Side roads are one thing at 25mph, but at 55mph that rig is a dangerous weapon if he had to stop in a hurry.

The last pic is the real truck

The 150 was doing what it could, the 2 ton was doing something else or it would be pullin the tractor.

I agree, let him be. I have loaded a 1/2 ton way past legal as well. And the 3/4 ton, and the 1 ton.
We do what we gotta do.

The tires are pumped up to 100 pounds... and the wheel bearings are really straining.

Nobody told this fella to cut two small pieces to wedge between axle and frame before loading it :msp_w00t:

He's clearly waaaaay over on gross wt. Clearly so with that trailer. What tongue weight?

Not to worry, there are still a (very) few CT State Troopers visible nowadays. Hopefully one will escort him (very slowly) to the scales.

Anyone who's an apologist for this sort of stuff should have to be stopped in front of this guy, and hope that his brakes can stop him in time. Sheesh!

Probably pulling me over like today because there was saw dust blowing off the top of the bucket truck:dizzy: REALLY!?!? are you bored?? I didn't get a ticket or anything he just said clean it off before leaving the job site......ummmm ok:msp_thumbup:

An apologist? Hahaha. I'm a chear leader for him.
I knew I'd get somebody to bite. :msp_rolleyes:

CT has some tough enforcement by DOT, if they saw him, he is toast.

People figure if I stay off the main roads im good, not in most of CT.

The DOT are like Ninja's, on your sh#t in the blink of an eye.

That truck/trailer loaded like that is not going to able to stop in an emergency,if needed, no way.

Why risk other peoples lives operating like this?

Looks like at one point he wrapped a strap around the truck and cinched it down so stinkin' tight he buckled the panels in front of the rear tires on both sides!! :msp_biggrin:

I've also greatly overloaded my F150, but am very glad I got a F350 now, with a 16' trailer. There is only one F150 in the world that I know cannot be overloaded, now matter how much weight we're talking about, and that's 08F150!!!

Hahaha. Around here we're more concerned about keeping our trucks moving, stopping seldom enters our minds.
I'm glad we don't have a bunch of cry babies here....Oh wait, we do...never mind. :msp_rolleyes:

You could make the same statement about an unloaded vehicle traveling down the freeway at 80 mph, but no one does. Probably because they're the ones doing it, and it's the speed limit in some places.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is a good thing to know your limitations. Not so much to empose them on others.

From your judgment, and experience towing trailers, would you say that guy knows his limitations? ;)

How to do you propose to handle the people that don't know, or care, about limitations?

The guy is a rolling accident. One of my neighbors had his truck loaded like that and lost all 5 lug studs on the left rear wheel. He had to unload it before the tow truck would tow it.

Move to Iowa...
02' durmax 15. Big squares and a 21' goosneck...

Hard to say, they are still pictures. He may be taking it down his driveway at 5 mph, I'm not willing to speculate like others.

Hmm. Maybe they could give real driving tests to get a drivers license. Your license could have validations for how fast you're allowed to drive, whether you have the sence to haul a heavy load, etc. The last 2 numbers on your license plate could indicate your speed limit, the first letter could indicate whether you are allowed to haul anything.
