Yes, like the glow we saw heading into Orleans at 0 dark thirty to get trees loaded. Somebody decided to burn down the historic Orleans Hotel that night.

They took all the porches off or fenced them off.

The market had to put in a sturdier door to stop the 3AM need beer so I'll just drive into the store crowd.

The Somes Bar store had a similar problem with need cigarettes so I'll throw a brick through the window people.

The time we had a fire, and it was like The Night of the Living Dead around the supply tent.

You kinda had to be there.:dizzy:

Ya got any Grandfather stories?

He lost one of his big toes in the train wreck, sorta had to learn to walk again. Later in life he lost his leg below the knee, the one with the good toes. Then ten years on, he had a heart attack and died while teaching his neighbor how to ride a bicylce. My one legged four toed grandpa died riding a bicycle.

A strapping gentle giant white headed Shriner that liked Booze and Women, and had nine log trucks in Canyonville, OR. I'd love him even if we weren't related.

Been there, Martin's Ferry, Pecwan, Clear Creek, Forks of Salmon. My first fire was Bald Hills, Hancorn Rd. Hogs rootin' around, tribes rootin' around, garfarkin' hippies too.

The Night Of The Living Dead started out thusly. Two guys drive up in a car at suppertime. They hop out, one in a fireshirt with slacks, the other with nomex pants and regular shirt. They get right in the chow line.

Security goes right over and escorts them back to their car. Nice try. :)

We had our first fire of the season yesterday. Tracers in grass, warm day, textbook. I dropped off my driptorch on-scene, then went back to the shop for my line gear; fire was out before I got back. Still, I never did get anybody to take my bet that out first this year would be in March.

Old pictures are great, get them scanned and posted, or I will call you C-cup.

Figured I'd get these up, keep the fallout to a probationary training bra at worst. Couldn't say the vintage, location, or how he managed to survive the wreck. Thinks the train faired better than the truck, but any log faired best of all. He was C.E. 'Whitey' Miller. I'll bump the Photos thread too.

Yah,that's how it seems to start. some idoiot does something stupid and then We get called. the D6D is a tough machine, not quite as tough as a TD-15 tho. The 6C was my favorite fireline cat of all time.

them D6C'sre damn good dozers but the D series are the best
