Will A 181 tank fit a 288xp

looking to find out if a tank/handle from a 181 will fit a 288xp? (tried to search but couldn't find anything)

Just ran downstairs and checked mine. I can't see any differences between them except that the 288 has spring mounts instead of the 181's rubber mounts; I still think it should work just fine.

throttle linkage is different on the newer 288 but you can change them from one to other

thanks guys for quick info, another member ended helping me out with a 288 tank so i don't need to try the 181.

No problem, glad you figured something out. Either are a great saw & would be a shame to sit half-complete.
