Windfall + hazard maple

I had this windfall a few weeks ago. Large red maple split and toppled 4 more. The other half is still snagged on another tree.

I added number 6 and lucky 7 to the pile yesterday. Number 7 was hanging over the work site and it was split at the base. I didn't want to cut anything until that was down. I could see there was about 4-6" of good wood holding it. So I "shaved" a notch into it - my original plan had a rope in it too but I couldn't get one up there. Started with a shallow kerf in the direction of the fall and worked back to a shallow notch. Kept working on it carefully and eventually it started down. Landed it right on the stump from #6.

Hauled the brush and most of the tops out today. Fun and exciting weekend for this warrior. :)
