Seems to dry fast once it's inside. Cherry I split a week ago was only wet about 3/4" on the ends. After a week in the shed it was burnable in a non epa stove. Can't see a catalytic liking it.

My elm soaked the water up like a sponge though. Oak was looking good to go and sitting in the January/Febuary line up.
Elm also soaks air up like a sponge and thus dries very fast. Red elm is still my favorite firewood -- except maybe for ash.

15" of rain here since September 2nd. Can't get anything to dry out
We have watched five weeks of weather here in which there have not been two consecutive days or sunshine with no rain. All other days have been rain. Crops are swamps. Farmers cannot pick grain in flooded fields and the grain is too wet to pick even if they could get in there to get it out. Four inches of wet snow just fell -- as if we needed that on top of the rain.
