One thing I have begun to realize is that it is best to get the logs/rounds as close to the racks as possible before splitting as it saves time handling. I used to split in the woods and haul splits to the pile. Now I drop rounds next to the racks and if possible I drag logs or tree length (for smaller trees) right in.

Current process.

I get the life worked out of me doing this. Neighbor has under 5 min turn around times.

Hopefully all of this will change this spring. [emoji2]

Friend of ours has a firewood business and a processor that takes tree length.

He said he can do the log yard in about 2 days.

Neighbor can feed logs with the hoe.

I told devon I want this whole place split wood.

I can then focus my attention to more important items like scrounging
