ok i got a 066 comming in the mail. its coming with a 25" bar on it already. i need a big bar for those pesky 4ft trees lol. i wanna be the guy that can take the wood other guys have to turn down cuse they dont have enough saw. i was thinking maybe 32 or 36. what suits the 066 best? also so i go with skip chain aswell?
i will be buying from baileys so id like to get loops of chain also.

oh the saw has 150lbs of compression and a dp muffler :)

It will pull a 36" in hardwood.

With a sharp chain of course.

I wouldn't be afraid to run a 42" in hardwood with skip.

i think my guy told me 36" bar max with full comp. with that you could cut a 6' tree!:dizzy: i would love to find something around 50" and a loop of skip for my 660. :)

btw: you gotta watch how you word things 'round here.

I've got a 28" waiting on the 066 that is arriving at my local sometime in the next couple weeks. I was going to get a 36" for it but since I already have the 28, I think I'll get a 42" and a couple loops of skip RC. After it's ported it should have more umph for pulling the long bar.

I can bog mine on a 36 (which it wears most of the time)... 42? yeah, I can see that i n cedar, but for anything else I'll pull out my 088.

36, full comp and it will pull it fine.
hardwood, everything.
a 660 is a tree EATER
42? no problem. just use skip chain.

With a sharp chain mine pulls a 36" in hardwood with pretty good authority.

It is ported and I have no reason to believe it wouldn't handle a 42" nearly as well.
