Even if the super needs a bunch of work , you still did very, very well.

Thanks i couldn't believe they were still there when i got there. I also got a husky 61 that runs mint and a 010av that needs some work and a 024 that needs a P&C for my old stock rims off my jeep.

I thought my deal was pretty good before i saw Mr.Bowsaw's 9 saws, unbelievable.

There has been more than one of these threads over the last couple of years where I have posted about many of my free and real cheap chainsaw finds. Always get the " I " hate you comments so this time around my answer is a truckload of saws for $75. plus about the same amount of gas for the trip. I now have a 2nd load setting and waiting for me to make the trip again this fall and pick them up, same deal.

Eagerly waiting to see what the latest "haul" brings.

If there's any Homelite XP-Series (or any other big Homelites for that matter) then please keep the eccentric fellow in Ca in mind...

Any interest in a XL-901?

044, 2x28" bars, 32" bar, 7x28" chains, and 7x32" chains, and scrench for $100. 044 needs a new P&C and is getting an almost complete rebuild.

I only buy "deals"...so here goes...

55-free (boss gave me 3 parts saws and made them into a runner)

242-$75 (got it in a deal with a 350 for $150 BOTH RAN 100%)

372XP-$300 (was run for 3 hours and the customer didn't need it anymore came with 5 chains-3 brand new, pair of chaps, helmet, gloves, doz files, 6 flats, 5 pack of 2 cycle, gas can, and 2 gallons of bar oil, and the big box case)

361 (had to purchase a P&C as it was straight gassed)

025 freebies (various small things fixed)

I guess I'll throw this out there.

Gave my brother in law a Husky 262 in real nice shape. I'd been watching for a saw to pass on to him and received the 262 as part of a trade for doing some work for a fellow.

My brother in law is not a member so I'll post this for him...:)

My best CL find was a MS-250 that I was given because he could not get the saw to run. I went to the fellows house answering an ad for a Chain Grinder and he had some saws sittin round. I asked about the obviously disregarded 250 and he said " that POS...if you will take it you can have it....I hate that thing man it sucks and won't start!"...needless to say I got it running for him right there because I just could not take it knowing there was nothing wrong. He said..."if you can tune the rest of the saws you can still take the 250" so I got the others running up to speed with some cleaning and tuning and left with the 511ax and a MS 250 for $125.

That's not the best part of the deal. Turns out me and the seller are now really good friends, we split together I work for him when he needs and we just generally are kindered wood heads always talking saws or trucks or splittin....he's a local cop too so I don't get too many hassles with the guys on the force...

Yup CL deals are great but friends harder to find.

I was given a Solo 631Sp In Craftsman clothing that was assumed seized.

It needs some clutch drum parts to be usable again, so not really free.

I'll probably keep it for a backup 50cc saw or do some mod experimentation with it if I ever get the gumption to do so.

The best deal of the bunch was probably my ready to run 066 for 200.00. Nothing wrong with it just needed a B&C.

Last month I got a 1964 Allis Chalmers B10 garden tractor for 100.00. Came with a plow, snow blower, tiller, cultivator, and 2 sets of tire chains. Wasn't running when I got it but it just needed a points cleaning.

A couple years ago I got my 1999 Kawi Bayou in boxes except for the frame and partly disassembled engine. Turns out everything mechanically was fine and it just needed a couple gaskets and a spark plug. Cost me 100.00

Right now I'm working on getting an Edelbrock carb for 50$. :D

For me it is a toss up.

Bought a basement full of stuff at an auction for 5 bucks. Ended up finding a Husqvarna 3120xp behind a bunch of stuff. It needs a coil but should be running soon.

Sachs Dolmar KMS-4 for 150 off craigslist.

Some other good deals include 3 nice running Husqvarna's for all for $375 a 353, 359 and 372xp. Four stihl parts saws for $175 a 020T, MS192, 044 and 046. Ended up selling them one at a time on ebay for a total of $750.

Thall calls me cheap for a reason.....hehe.

I have many saws which I really stole, but on the other hand, I got burned on a few also. So it balances out really.
