I think your first step is to contact the owners to become a paying sponsor if you wish to continue to advertise your port work. this is a pay to play advertising place. ask me how I know..

Ms390 about the 4.3 hp mark 13kw in the new money no idea how you could ever measure it not like you can just wack it on the dyno
better get a new calculator there matt lol try 3.2 kw ( ok i am slow to reply it seems.lol)

welcome and awesome yr in melbourne!!. just a tad closer than the States.
best you read up on the Mtronic saws too. they are becoming more popular.

if you want to gain the trust of the as community you will need to prove yourself by putting in the time with the as community. here in the last few years there has been an over abundance of new guys building saws and becoming sponsors to do business with the as members. then up and disappearing ,not communicating with there customers ,doing less than stellar work. I just want to watch out for the people that I have been here with for several yrs now and not see them burned again. post up some pics of actual chainsaw cylinders that you've done. lets see some before and after video of saws in the same wood with same bar and chain. post up port timing numbers so they know your not just guessing as to what works. don't bother trying to hide your super secret port numbers because its all been done before and the folks of this community pretty well know whats real work saw numbers and whats not. they are going to want to know who is working with the saws and making a living with them. how to they stand up to abuse ,yada yada yada . you get my point. folks just want to see what they are getting for there hard earned dollar these days. there are several of us builders on here if you need to pm for any advise on dealing here.

tlandrum, your point on respect is more than valid and sincerely noted, as for your comments on posting pic, vids and so forth I have nothing to hide from anyone and certainly don't have any secret port numbers or any thing else for that matter, as I stated in the beginning of this thread I don't have much to put up as yet, I don't do this for a living atm, more as side projects for my own interest and R&D, and quite honestly I didn't think I'd create so many waves amongst everyone on here because where I'm from people think I'm some sort of nut for doing what I'm doing.
I have no problem posting anything up for all to see as long as it is relevant to what's being spoken about because I'm not the type of person to brag about what I can do just for the hell of it, and as I also said earlier in this thread I will do a complete build for all to see, and even come and operate the saw when complete, so if that's not trying to gain respect from others on here I'm not sure what is then.
I don't wish to burn bridges with anyone on here especially other saw builders, I have respect for you guys and what you do I just expect the same in return, and I thank you for the offer on advise if I need it I will most defenitly take you up on that offer at some stage

Well, the MS390 is crap with a plastic case anyway, far from a professiomal chainsaw - it doesn't matter how you calculate the power output back and forth, it still is low for the size and weight of the saw. ;)

If you can however get good gains from a crap saw then kudos from me :) The model of saw is irrelevant at this stage.

Irrelevant here as well - just crap!

That thing obviously was made mainly for the US market, where more people don't understand what the word quality means, or see the difference.

Not cool, I think generalisations about large portions of the population from a different country may be stepping over the line.

I just have to say that, I never said anything about the 390 being the best saw to modify its just a saw I have sitting around that needs a rebuild, now for starters people on here want proof of what I can do not just put up a model number of a saw an have a slanging match on how much of a piece of rubbish it is ( sawtroll ).
So I'll try this then, you guys pick a saw to modify and supply it to me, everything I said earlier still stands except instead of selling it ( because it's not mine ) it can be auctioned off or something like that or even you guys decide what happens to it.
If that's how I prove myself I've got no problem with that at all
