I don't know you and you must definitely not know me, but you might want to know a little more about the subject before calling me out. your remark is a joke and shows your lack of knowledge on the subject. you may want to do a bit of research on the 555 and 562 differences or lack there of... I would school you in the in the minor differences but there is page upon page on this site explaining it over and over so try the search function out.

Did you miss the part where I said, "In my opinion". No one said you have to agree with everything I say. Or are you like Sunfish where only his opinions matter?

Dude as terry said, do some research that way you don't have to sound stupid to people who actually know what there on about. Your opinion in this case is wrong. Sorry but that's fact

I'm thinking about getting a Husky 555. I already have a NE346XP? What do you guys/gals think??
Thanks, NYH1.

In post 48 you use past tense "My 365 Special was a real runner"

The OP said it best in the Echo thread: "I think echo out performs most dollar for dollar. If I was a millionaire I'd still use my 620... im just happy with it :) or 600p whatever."

I would hope folks use titles that convey what they hope to get in responses. What exactly do you have at this time that is useable would seem something that seems a bit of clarifying to do a good job of answering the title. What sort of $ loss would be acceptable to sell off the 555 after a short while just to experiment?

It seems we have many Sunfish's on this thread. I believe you have the right to your opinion...too bad you don't afford that luxury to others.

You guys are funny (and way too serious):). Certain brands are so entrenched in your brains you can see nothing else. If someone brings up a different option, they are crucified. The OP stated he wanted to run a 20" bar and that price was a concern. The 555's msrp is $640. The Echo's msrp is $400. Knowing that, and it's quality and performance, one would assume (my bad) that the OP might be interested in the 590. Is that stupid?

You want to talk about facts? I had a member PM me last night and he brought up a point I had forgotten. He can use his 10% Home Depot discount to buy the 590 for $360. There is no other new chainsaw on the planet with a price/performance ratio like that. That's a fact.

Edit: That same military member also reminded me about Echo's 5 year warranty. I'm relatively sure no other chainsaw can compete with that either.

I have no doubt the echo product is a good one. In fact I plan to try more of there equipment. But you did say that you could not compare a 555 with the likes of a 562 (pro saw) but ya know what they share all the same body parts with a different paint job.

I don't think the 590 would be a good choice here since the OP stated that he has a bad back and is looking for a lighter weight saw. The 555/562xp seems like the obvious choice to me, and yes the 555 is comparable to the pro grade construction of the XP models, just slightly detuned.

Idaho, you're still missing the point. This has nothing to do with brand. o_O

It has more to do with my opinion being different than this: "555 is in my opinion the best bang for the buck for a homeowner that wants a saw that's built as well as the more expensive pro model". That is no doubt a good saw and I wouldn't object to owning one. But dollar for dollar, performance to performance, the 555 falls short compared to the saw I mentioned. That saw just happens to be a different brand. I know it's not about brand but how do we have a discussion (without comparing brands) when there's more than one brand to discuss?

No disrespect intended but that kind of makes me chuckle. If 9/10th of a pound more is going to be a deal breaker, I'm thinking the OP is going to have a problem running any saw.

If he plans on using the saw all day and lugging it around, that extra pound will make a HUGE difference at the end of the day, even for someone who doesn't have a bad back.
