Next I begin installing the rest of the chain brake system.

Here I've placed the oiler cable in a clip between the case and tank.

Thread the oiler cable through this hole in the tank as you begin to bring the case and tank together. It's much harder to do it later.

Pull the manifold through the opening in the tank and install the gold sleeve.

Installed the coarse threaded screw into the AV mounts and cover with caps.

That's where real progress stopped for the night. But....I wonder what this things going to look like. Why not throw the bar cover and some plastic on there and cheat a little?

I can't believe you can't get a filter cover to match the rest of the plastic. I've yet to see a filter cover the color of the rest of my plastic. Same issue Freakingstang had with his.

Here's the factory tools for inserting seals and bearings. Dead simple to make on a lathe, but cheap to buy anyhow.

The two on the left are bearing arbors that are used with a press. Helps keep the bearing aligned and only presses on the outer race. Mutiple sizes with these two.

The far right is a sleeve that slips over the crank to let you push the seal over the crank lip without rolling the lip and releasing the spring.

Second from the right is the seal press tool. It goes over the sleeve and seal. It's slip fit on the sleeve so the seal is automaticaly aligned square. It has two ends and covers many saws.

Just tap it with hammer.

I could have bought a new MS880:dizzy: :dizzy: It was one of those things that just snow balled. And once you started, you had to finish. Believe it or not, if I could get most of my money out of it, I would sell this thing. As cool as it is.

You will notice a few used parts in it, but the majority of it is all new, even including most bolts. I probably have $70 in bolts!

Oh come on now. I'm already in the poor house with this project.:cry: :cry: And to think it all started with $115 NOS case and $100 tank. Then before you know it, you've spent $1600:dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:



Did you get the new muffler that was on evilbay.....I saw one a couple days ago.....Man that thing went high....
