Oh I can surely agree, if I was Olympic athlete or similar. Ounces are not worth that kind of money. I would be much better of focusing on losing 5 , 10 or 15lbs off my frame over all then spending a 100 bucks to save a few ounces. Healthier too!

I agree with losing a few pounds, however that doesn't do anything for the stress on your wrists, elbows, and shoulders from running a big saw with a long bar all day. Come on out west and I'll put you on a logging job cutting timber 6 hours a day on a full-manufacture production side and then we'll see what you have to say about a few ounces.

Anyone use one yet? I saw one at the shop today, it was light, and expensive, like three times the price of a powermatch. Are they good, do they last, are they worth it? Thanks/Jim

You are right Thall. I said it here once, "why all the cryin about wieght when the old saws wieghed more, men have gotten weaker" or words to that effect. Armchair quarterbacks, weekend warriors, or as you say, pansy azzes.
Do you have to ask? lol

What is your point Space, I was talking about bars, not saws. Very quick to pounce, but do you work, as in run a saw all day, everday. Or are you in one of the groups I mentioned?

I see. So it's not ok to want a light saw, but is ok to want a light bar?

I want one, have you ever ran a 395 all day, or an 066? Nothing wrong with wanting lighter tools, whining over a little wieght and giving up lots of power because of it is silly. That was my point, sorry you missed it.

Not a 395, but I own a 394. And yes, I have ran it all day. It was my only saw for a good bit, and I even used it to limb with. But, we weren't discussing what I use or have used.

And that is the whole point of my preference of the Sugis.....you do not have to pull the weight of .063 chain and lose the power

I have a 394 as well. You used it all day? Then you are not in one of the groups I mentioned. Good for you, takes a bit of effort to use one all day unless you are really used to it. Most days I use a 70cc sized saw.

I have a 066 w/reduced weight 36,,,, I can use it about a half day and I'm done,, and a 28" reduced weight thats on my 460

However,,,,I mostly prefer use a couple of woodsported 044/440's and a 365/372 modded cause the don't wear me down as much!!!!!

I know, but how many lawyers can run a 394 all day?, have to give him a bit of credit.

Thats true,,, He's really a good guy,,,, just full of ch!t

Where are you ordering the Sugis bars? I need a 28" and woulod like to try one. They look pretty cool too.:)

I need to speak with them again tomorrow.

What gauge and for what saw?

Stihl 440, .050 72 DL for me.

Get them to start making a replacable tip with a roller instead of a sprocket, it will be all the rage with the racers, lite bar, roller tip, .050 mmmmm good.

Later,

RAT, you have or have run Huskys!?!?!? i thought you were a man of stihl through and through...or do you just like orange and can't tell a difference in performance anyways???
