Hello to old and new here

long time since i visited the site due to work

came across a positive problem today

a guy stops his activities and offers above saws, all used but also maintained and with different ages.

- 440 2007 500 euro 650$
- 441 2009 700 euro 930$
- 460 2007 600 euro 800$
- 088 ?? 500 euro 650$

Of course i see the opportunity in ''having'' an extra saw but the situation is that i have firewood for the next 5 years, no more trees to cut (let alone 088 size) but... BUT...

well what to do? Is it worth having a 088 sleeping in the barn till the trees grow big or better opt for the 440 or 460 just to have some extra grunt in case the 361 runs out???

appreciate your input :D

My input is that need has nothing to do with it and you should buy them all.;)

Mr. HE:cool:

Out of them if you don't really need the 088, then I would get the 440. The 441 and 460 will be around for a while longer with more opportunity to get one.

I would say that 600 eur is a lot of coin for a 3 year old 460 that has presumably been well used.

The 088 would be nice, but unless you mill, or know you have trees to cut that are >36" wide, you'll never really need it. 460 is a glorious saw, 440, 441 are similar.

It's clear you don't need any of these saws. So buy what you really want in the dark corner of your heart. I'll tell you, I don't need an 088 either, but if I came on a great deal for one I might just pick it up so I'd have it. And once I have it, you can bet I'd find a way to use it in big wood!

At those prices I'd pick up the 440 and 088 and take a picture of the smile that wouldn't leave my face. :D :D

Hold The 880 For Me..

650 Euro's X US X1.34 = Pie + Free Heatlh Care X = $1000.+ Health Care. Minus AMT = Y _ Y+ VAT Tax = 1267.98. Import+ Tax 1452.20 = $1609.81

Never Mind:monkey:

The best deals are the 440 and the 088 IMO. Don't you wish deep down you could buy both? If only one though, and it was in good condition, it's the 088 for me. Thats an expensive saw. If I were you though, I'd try to get them both.:)

#1 pick the 044/ms440. i have had plenty of saws over the years in the 70 to 80+cc class.

so far the 044 & 440 number 1 in my book. durable, powerful, easy to start , easy to repair, plenty of parts on the market for them at reasonable prices. they respond well to 460 jug swaps and other hot rod tricks.

#2 the 88-- don't know why you would need it outside a mill--but that is a lot of saw for the $$:greenchainsaw:
