Actually, the assambly lines are the same, with the same people.......

...it started in 1982, with the Jred 670 and 630, that was the 266se and 162se, with some changes, and gradually involved more models.....
Maybe in your world but not mine! lol
Now we have to start working on you to get a really big saw, 100cc plus.
I know off topic and another thread but I am trying to start something here!
for some reason I see you with a 084?

Lol

I could not resist.....want a PM1000?

Sorry....I know that is one of those "junky" McCullochs

I have given up on Stihl. I have a Stihl 026Pro that I am getting rid of. I want a saw with more umpf. I have decided to go with a Husky in the 50-60cc range. I want a saw that can handle a 20" bar and chain with ease. I want to keep the purchase within $500 if possible. I have been checking things out and have come up with the following ideas. Any opinions, other suggestions in the Husky line, etc would be much appreciated. The three that I have sorta narrowed it down to are:

1.) 359
2.) 455 Rancher
3.) 460

I am really leaning towards the 359.
Thanks all.

I have the 357xp, but thats out of the price range you are trying to stay in, it really does work well with an 18" bar; I have a 20" for it but don't ever run it because I run a 372xp with a 20" most of the time. The 359 would be my choice just because its somewhat close to the 357xp, however see below....

If your only going to cut pine or other softwood the 3 saws you mentioned above would be OK. They will cut 20" Oak but its not going to be fast at all.(been there, done that, with saws of this size) Its hard on the saw and you.

If you want to cut 20" OAK or other hardwood and really get something done then get a 372xp with a 20" bar. I know it doesn't meet your $500.00 goal but if you buy one of the three saws you mentioned above and cut 20" Oak you'll be thinking: "I wish I had spent the money and got a bigger saw."

The 372xp can be purchased used (as well as the 357xp) with little use for under your $500.00 price range. The 372xp would be my choice if I was only going to get one saw; you can run anything from an 18" bar to a 24" bar (I know, it will handle larger & smaller bars, but those should be the only ones necessary) with ease. The 372xp also has the inboard clutch which makes changing the bars a snap!

If I really wanted a Husky for under $500,Id consider a used saw,You could find a near perfect 357xp,362,or even a 372 for that price. The 357 is a sweet saw, lightweight with 4.4 HP. I bought a brand new one about 3 years ago for around $510.Traded it off for a gas auger, like an idiot.Just my 2 cents, but the 357 will make you alot happier than a 455 or 359

I have a near new 2156 for 450 plus shipping.....that is the Jonsered version of the 357XP......I can send pics tomorrow if interested it was a third saw for a cutter and he said he never used it more than twice so he traded it up for a 2186 rather than tie up the money

I actually would have wanted that one - it is a rebadged Partner P100, made in Sweden........:)

.....
Or a big bad and good looking Jred? Say a 1020?

I'd liked that one as well - another rebadged P100, and nicer colors........

you are close... the WT's are always made on a friday...

Maybe, but they are not made in Sweden.....

The Swedish made Poulans I know of are the Poulan Pro 505, 475, 445 and 425/415 that were based on the Partner P7700, with various engine sizes from 82.4cc, down to 65.

That was in the days that the Pro in Poulan Pro meant something......

Sounds good! - hopefully it is not a "C".......

OK...Mr Tettnanger passed

He is squeamish of a used purchase so the 2156 is up for grabs $450 plus shipping
I checked and it does have the C muffler

I took these pics as I was cleaning the saw as it last cut some white pine and had pitch on it.

Alright....what is going on here?

I go to 2 different Husky dealers this morning looking for the 359. Not on the shelves. OK. A little more prodding and both tell me that the saw is being discontinued and replaced by the 460 w/X-Turd. UGH. I assume then that the Jonsey 2159 will be suffering the same fate? I guess that I must save up for the 372XP then....right?

I hate this place!
