There's just too many choices out there and it's killing me. I finally narrowed it down to these two....the ms460 and the 372xp.
The ms460 just trips my trigger for some reason, I don't know why. Maybe it's the raw power (6 hp). It sounds mean as hell too. It feels good in my hands and the dealer support is everywhere.
Then the 372xp is better in the anti-vibe department, better filtration, but less power, and it just doesnt' look as good to me for some reason. I know aesthetics aren't everything but I'd like it to be sexy and perform....:hmm3grin2orange:
But, the 460 doesn't seem to get any love on AS....why is that? Price, Stihl brand hating? If price wasn't a factor which would it be? I'm probably not going to mod it, so don't let that factor in. I don't care which is cheaper either cause I'm probably gonna buy it new and have it for a looonnnnng time so I don't mind the investment.
The 460 has higher hp with I'm sure more torque hp to hp. The AV and filtration is surely adequate. I can't imagine the 372 being leaps and bounds better, but I don't know. Just don't want to make a mistake here. Surely, if these 2 saws were bone stock the 460 would handle big wood more effectively. Also, is the AV really that big of a deal? One more thing, Dolmar has no dealer support in my area so I ruled them out early on. I know somebody is gonna say 7900....lol. Thanks for the help.
