MS 271 or Echo?

If I were you I'd jump on that echo. You'd probably like running it better with an 18" bar, just my opinion. With the $100 you save you could put towards extra goodies.

If you could find an 036 or 359 for a good price they would be a good choice. But the 590 is the best choice dollar for performance going right now. Iv been using these two in place of my 590 while its with Del getting ported.

That a Good Deal on the echo

I don't know if it makes a difference to anyone's opinion, but I can get the new Echo 590 with a 20" bar for $295 new with the sale they are having. The Stihl MS 271 is $389.

I would go handle the 590 see how it feels .... extra chains. wedges come in handy or another saw

For me even if the 590 cost the same as the 271, I would choose the 590! It's a simple answer.
