The job on the fir tree went OK yesterday, here's a few pics. People say that you have to be careful when cutting these shrine trees, accidents and strange things happen. I don't know whether to believe it or not, but after making sure a couple of times that the 090 was starting OK the day before, and that morning (think the carb can use a new diaphragm), the pull rope snapped when starting the saw the last time before doing the back cut. I ended up cutting with the 088 and 42" bar, which went fine. The tree was a hundred and fifty years old, with a bit of rot in the stump....it's time was due. The woman living next to the shrine said she was so happy now that her house won't get crushed. 
The sun came out and it was a good day's work. Cool job.
