Hello from Romania! I have a Remington SL 11 saved from the dump. The piston and cylinder are dead. Is this engine used on other saws[Homelite XL] .It seems to be 48,5 bore X35 stroke.

Remington 'engine' is unique to Remington saws.

But, there is a strong possibility that the Homelite Super XL piston will fit/function in the Remington SL-11 or PL-5.

I have not personally tried one yet.

New Homelite pistons are offered by eBay seller llrdbrn.

Good luck with your project.

After a closer look i think the cylinder is OK, the piston has a little scoring on the exhaust side but will work. What kind of rings can i use in this cylinder? Cabers? Will a Stihl ring work [ modified]?

Thanks. I do not have a way to pay the greek, so i think a 49 mm ring, file the ends and file again to clear the locator pin. The ring is[?] 1.5 mm thick. PS : Remington SL 11 on Ebay.

I have a Remington PL5 with a roller nose bar in .63 gauge but the chain on it is only .50. So I'm wondering what other bars would fit so I can run .50 chain on this saw?
I have bars for older Homelites, Pioneer and Poulan. Perhaps my 19" roller nose bar will be for sale.

Try and see if some 3/8" x .063" will fit. Maybe the groove is worn enuff.

I did that on the 30" on my PP655BP. Had to spread the rails in a few spots but it worked.[emoji12]
Actually all three chains are .63 as are the bars of course. I'm just trying to find a bar and chain combo that will match for the Remmie. It's not a saw that will ever get much use. Thanks for the input.
