I just want to say thanks for taking the time and effort to put the video together. As I understand all saws were muffler modded, but none were ported. All chains were 3/8 full chisel?

One thing I'd suggest to @M&Rtree: try to avoid the left hand "monkey grip", with the thumb alongside your index finger. Makes it real difficult to control the saw when kickback happens. Kickback do happen. Just wanna keep you around.

I timed them a couple more cuts. Come up with.

262 35.5 34.8 34.9
630 51.0 50.1 49.8

I thought I read spike60 and Cantdog commenting about the 262/630 being more or less the same saw - this was in a 262xp thread somewhere.

Surprised by the difference in cut times. Like whoa.

Same chain. The 630 just doesn't rpm like 262's. I believe spike meant ported 630's run really good. The 630 has 155 compression. Wonder if that's low?

Chain is Stihl RSC.
Dolmar 6400 and Solo 665 in my opinion are not in this class of saw.
Alot larger chassis. Way more cubes.
6400
665
365 special
670 jred
670-680 echo
038
Whole other class of saws.

Nice vid. What about a video of the 6400 and 665?

Yeah but then you would have to run the 7900 in that size group.

I demoed a 620p, 6100 dolmar last week. Played with my 365 Craftsman and Redmax 621. My buddy brought over his 362 cm and ms 361 last week. I have spent two three weeks running the saws. And came to one conclusion. I ordered a 2260 from Terry. End of the day I feel its the best saw in this class.
Did you organise for Terry to do rude things to it's insides?
My 562 had maybe 20hrs on it before I had terry send me a ported top end. The difference was mind boggling.
It went from struggling to pull an 18" bar to screaming with a 20" in Aussie hardwood. I think it would be the lightest thing that could pull a 24" bar with the sort of speed required for use in a tree.

From the outside looking in, looks like there were some chain deficiencies....

Some self fed, some u had to shove on.

Only way to really compare, is run the same loop of chain on every saw.

But...
