For most Eastern US hardwoods it is the perfect size. If I could only have one saw it would be 70cc.

Definitely No Tricks when it comes to u`r new 2171 just Treats, Best of luck w/u`r new saw.
I run my 372`s with RSC chain it`s my everyday go to saw.

I've been thinking about getting a 372, dealer wants $809.00 for one with 20" bar, local farm store wants $760.00 for same...

Dang, that's a lot of $$ to part with!

They are two different beasts, the 372 is another 10cc's more than the 361 so, with that you need to make up your mind how much power you need or can handle, I sold my 361 a while ago and bought the last 440 my dealer had and never looked back, so my vote if you want a saw that can take the punishment and do about any job it would be the 372 without hesitation.
