Ok looks like it's just sensitive to the piston position when pulling the cord, and to flooding. I tried again this morning and she fired right up.
Wow, I'm grateful for the advice I got from this forum. It's a powerful saw that needs treating with respect, but it sliced up a 20+" Red Oak that came down in a storm in no time.
Now I'm out of oil, gas, and the chain is blunt
Time to get some supplies tomorrow.
