Hey guys,

Did a search and got nothing on Cannan bars (not Cannon) and TriLink chain. Anyone know anything?? Vendor admits chain is Chinese, maybe bars are too?

i am looking to treat my Dad a new bar/chain/sprocket for his lil Echo so trying to balance cost with quality as always.

cheers, Adam

Baileys are just ONE of the U.S. powerhouses that wont sell outside of the 48 states. So lil ole NZ dont qualify....I would gladly give them my money via Visa, but it is apparently not good enough for them. Strange as a sponsor of a site that is very much read/contributed worldwide. UPS goes everywhere, so i dont see the problem.

To this end, i have emailed them just now to see if it would be possible. Will update as i hear.

cheers, Adam

They're most probably chinese made, judging by the prices they go for on trademe, and the fact that mot of the guys selling them also sell cheap chinese chain. They do claim to be solid bars, so would still last longer/be better value than a cheap laminated bar.

Tri-Link ('000') chain is what is sold here at The Home Depot under their 'Power Care' brand. Website says they sell at Bynorm in Australia. I believe that it is all manufactured in China.

I scrounged some used rental chains from a Home Depot, but they did not fit my saws. Sharpened and traded them to another A.S. member and still waiting to hear how they cut and hold up.

They cost as much as Oregon and STIHL chains here, so I am not in a rush to go out and buy them myself.

I order my stuff from Baileys including bars, etc. have ordered several times over the past few years and have not had a shipping problem.

Cheers Rudolf73, that is good news.

I tried to create an a/c but it wouldnt accept it without a 'state'.
Do you remember if you used AA AE or AP for yours when you created it?

cheers, Adam

Scroll down to the bottom of the list - it should have "international"

Adam, you could always get a bar and chain from Oz, there's a damned good dealer on here goes by the handle MCW that supplies a lot of us with bars and chain.
I know he ships across the Tasman to a couple of other Kiwi chaps too.

Rudy should remember him too

Baileys will ship outside of the 48 states and I know of many aussies that buy stuff through them. There are certain things that they are bound by contract not to be able to sell outside their territory (husky saws) but a lot of stuff they can sell anywhere worldwide.

I know of another one too!!! not going to mention him though cause of the sponsorship thing. but if ya PM me I might be able to help you out.

Oh and the trilink/bynorm chain I have seen I would not waste my time on!! Cheapest is not necessarily most economical!!! same with bars, I have tried lots and the cheap ones may be inexpensive to buy but they are more expensive in the long run.

Haha yes my bad, sorry MCW (Matt). Thanks for reminding me Rick ;)

Before you import anything chainsaw related from the US get onto Matt first. He stocks all kind of chainsaw consumables. Oh and he has good deals too :msp_thumbup:

Bunnings sell that bynorm junk
I can by genuine stihl for about 2/3rds the price from the local dealer or I can buy genuine carlton from MCW for about 1/3rd the price of the bynorm

I sure other Aussies buy from Baylies only bug was they don't have a good handle on the cost of freight so I think the over charge the credit card and reimburse the card after they have shipped it.

Yep it is JUNK!!!

as for the baileys reimbursing thing as long as they reimburse I don't mind, it pisses me off though when you order something, they charge $40 shipping and when you get it, 2 or 3 months later and the postage on the box is like $10.80, and they just pocket the difference.

I know others have contacted baileys after the fact and said hey you charged me $40 shipping on order number 677678 and the postage on the box was $10.80 and baileys reversed the difference.

That was why I raised the issue,
their are smaller guys over thier that dont have the range of gear but they dont seem to have the same issue baileys do with international postage
