I got "had" yesterday when I bought a 455 from someone. I should have checked it out better. The thing was filthy, with crud caked everywhere. The air filter had been kept clean, though. Got it home and cleaned-it up today, and it isn't oiling a drop. Runs great, though. I did get the air nozzle too close to the primer bulb and ruined that...Just wondering how complicated or costly it will be to replace or fix the oiler. Thanks for any replies!

Oh, well. Did some research on these saws, and found out that the oil pumps are not very well made. Probably need to replace the entire pump...

Looking on Ebay I see new OEM kits for $40, minus the plastic drive gear, and there are some used options at various prices. Looks like the pump is directly below the clutch so I say yank it off and see what is going on, may be just a plugged up intake hose or you may just need a drive gear.

Check the screen at the end of the oil line

There was a thread about the 455 having trouble oiling a while back and it seems like husqvarna went to different screen. I think the holes were too small. This should be a cheap fix for a decent saw.

I had the same problem with a 445 right out of the box. Took it back and upgraded to the 455. I've had no problems with this one.
