Ok folks August 17th & 18th in Hamilton, Missouri is the date and location. I'll be putting on the first saw races and gtg for the North Missouri Gas & Steam Engine show. This festival is a large festival that has tractor/truck pulls, mud runs and large showing of outdoor equipment. Since there's never been anything chainsaw related I mentioned the idea and they loved it. I've been asked how much room we'd need and there will be plentiful parking. Food and concessions plentiful and the trip could be a great setting for a family get away.

The races will go in according class with the top end of the saw.

For now the classes will be set up as such:

Pipe saws will be in their own class. And there will be a big bar challenge because many saws are fast with small bars and race chains. The larger bar will separate the performance to a more comparable level.

I'd like to see everyone show up and support this. I believe it's going to be both fun for us and the public. Any questions or comments/ideas would be greatly appreciated just post them here. I'll likely be doing the bulk of all of this myself so helping me with the thinking part would help.

By that time I'm sure I will be looking for places to go to get out of the house and away from a crying baby... Some questions I have. Will there be races during each date or just one day? Will there be an entry fee? And most of all.. Food!! More info on the food! That should cover me for a while. Carry on

The second day is really going to be like a sunday morning after a gtg. We will most likely have bbq pork burgers with fried taters. Yes I'll make more sauce. I think we'll set up entry fee's like we did at Hedgerows $5 for moded and $2 for stock.

Any ideas for a crowd pleaser like a saw toss event? Is anyone good with axe throwing or something we could demonstrate?

Ax throwing sounds fun, I sure would hate to throw a nut out while trying to throw some old iron saw around...

I'd like to get a complete feel for the wood cutting expierence and a little more for everyone to see.

And we will have a saw toss

More questions. Is this event pretty much just saw races or will there be wood for others to cut on? Also, is there room available to camp Friday night?

There will be wood for everyone to cut on. And room for camping should be available I'll be double checking with the lady this evening. Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on the saw we had a funeral come up.

moody has appointed me to be the co chairman of this event lol, we have discussed contacting local dealers to set up displays for their products. we have stihl, Husqvarna, jred, and efco dealers locally. let me know which of them you would like too see there, and I will contact them and see if they will participate and what they will be willing to bring.
