I couldn't help myself, really. Poulan save

I left work today thinking I'd stop by a couple of scrapyards on the way home, probably to find nothing more than plastic poulans and completely wrecked old magnesium. :msp_ohmy: The first yard I stopped at did me in, and I made a new friend, who is going to put me in touch with another fellow that supposedly brings in a lot of old saws and whatnot. He's also going to set the old magnesium to the side for me. Hopefully all that pans out, but I digress.

One complete(?) Poulan 44 two man saw with bar and chain, a second bar, some of another 44, and a second handgrip. Any good resources where I can read up on this 100 pound beast?

I guess the acres site doesn't list the two man model 44. The only one I can find there is the one you linked, and it's a one man saw.

It's listed in Acres as a 4400:
Model Profile: 4400 (EARLY)

Similar to the 52 (Listed just below the 4400 as the 5200:

Just found something interesting while trying to clean the complete saw up a bit. The whole saw and the incomplete saw are consecutively serial numbered. Supposedly the guy has two more of these and they were used locally. Now I really gotta get in touch with him.

What can I say? Scrappin' is fun. I got lucky on this one. They would have torched it, but ran out of oxygen on the cutting rig before they got to it. I shouldn't have to worry about that anymore though since they're going to set the old stuff to the side for me.

I'll be hitting at least two more scrapyards tomorrow, maybe three, then at least one on Saturday . I go to the local ones at least once a week.
