Stihl MS192 TC (top handle) is easily my go to saw. Starts easily, light weight, cuts far beyond it's intended specs, runs and runs!

Downside - if I run it with only one hand to often I end up with tennis elbow like crazy.

how'd yours turn out? just the pop up on the 268 piston makes them really run without any porting.
My friend is going to cut me some popups using those 5.00 huztl pistons.
I cut a 268 piston down this spring comp was at 165 with a mahle 372 cylinder runs great revs high.
I swapped it out for a double ring huztl until my 268 pistons get done.
I'm hoping for a nice compression bump.
All china except oem cylinder full wrap an oem wristpin bearing.
I bought a couple more after this one i'm running big bores on them he is going to cut me a couple of 272 pistons down for them.
Poleman built me an excellent carb for it i'm having him build a couple more.
Fun cheap saw's under 300.00 each after mods.20170826_194717.jpg 20170522_162650.jpg

Limbing , ported 346xp , felling small/medium 372xp , big stuff 395xp . For fun a crazy fast ported 254xp , and up trees fine pruning an Echo 2511 running 1/4 chain and Stihl bar , bigger pruning ms200t .

I,m with Grack & Westcoaster90 on the Simonized 372, the grunt starts at rev 1 & goes rite up to 14500.

i didn't say simonized 372 lol while they run good and are consistant there are stronger 372's. the one in particular i mentioned was done very differently from how simon does them too. different piston then he uses as well. cutting a popup on a 268 piston and throwing it in there is so retarded easy that anyone can do it and have a stout saw without any grinding on the cylinder.

That's all I did with mine, I thought that was basicly what Simon did, mine seems to have torque all the way up the rpm range.

Echo CS400 or a CS520 , both are light for their size and are hot rods with just a muff modd and tuned right. Steve
My 520 hasn't been touched since the dealer started and tuned it the day I brought it home. Absolutely my favorite saw. It's been so good I can't bring myself to do any mods. Why mess with a good thing.

It depends on the size of the wood to be cut. 200t, ported 372, ported 395, Mac 125, ported 090 AV.
Exactly. The size of the logs being cut determines my favorite saw. I can make a small saw hate me by cutting logs too big and a large saw hate me by cutting small limbs.
