It seems to be a coil/carb problem? You tried with a new spark plug? Spark wire is good all the way from the coil to the spark plug? I also have a Jonsered 2258/Husqvarna 555 and had the cylinder/piston scored, cleand them up with scotchbrite and it runs good now. I just put a new ring in it.

Very nice saw! What's the year of production? It has the EL49 carburetor? I have a 2258, but it's from 2012 with an EL47 on it. I'm running an 18 inch bar on it. Very nice saw! Here is my saws:

Walbro is for the 545/550xp saws, and Zama carb are for the 555/556/560xp/562xp right?

It doesn't come programmed. You will need to go to the dealer and have it programmed for your saw - ignition coil. Or you can just swap the module and put the one from the carb that is installed on the saw.

Here is a picture with some pistons, that a friend of mine found on an onlinbe advertising site. Also it says something about 365xp,55,262... Haven't checked the PN/s.

This is a picture from a Jonsered 2258/H 555.

I only use E10 95 Octane pump gas in my saws and have no problems. I also have a friend with a Makita DCS 5121, also he uses the same gas as me, with Makita red oil ar 40:1 with no problems. I've tried some higher octane fuel, but I really haven't seen any noticeable difference between them.

That's what I just did. ;) I also had to clean de carbon build up in the combustion chamber, so the decomp valve and sparg plug had to be taken out. All the best!

My mistake. I wrote wrong. Anyway, interesting how Sthil sells his equipment. And in Ukraine/Russia they are cheap too. The 661 in Ukraine is about 550$-600$ from what I could find.

Why aren't these non-mtronic saws sold in Germany for example?

That cylinder looks nice! ;) @SoopermanLuva You did a fantastic job with that piston. Cleand out nice and that piston grove thing...:clap: Just wondering...if you clean up a piston like that, won't cause any problems because of the tolerance increasement?

Aprox. 30 min. to say so. I went a little at a time. It as the first cylinder clean up for me so no hurry. ;) I also was pleased at the end on how it came out.
